These five models range in net horsepower from 79 to 109 (59 to 81 kW) with dig depths from 14 ft. 3 in. (4.3 m) on the standard backhoe to 20 ft. 4 in. (6.2 m) with the Extendahoe. The event took place at ESS’s facility located at 2019 Airport Freeway in Euless. Thirty-eight contestants competed in the rodeo in front of more than 250 spectators. The event also received local television coverage. St. Joseph Equipment Hosts Case Rodeo in La Crosse, Wis. →

From Construction Equipment Guide... St. Joseph Equipment hosted a Case Rodeo at its equipment store, located at N1626 Wuench Road in La Crosse, Wis., Oct. 26. Fifty-five contestants competed in the event, with 275 people in attendance. The competition was hot. Guests checked out the demonstration area while keeping track of the current leaders in the backhoe rodeo competition. JCB Revs Up NASCAR Fans at Lowes Motor Speedway’s Bank of America 500 →

From Construction Equipment Guide... The 750 hp Nextel Cup stock cars were not the only machines making noise at the Bank of America 500 at Lowes Motor Speedway Oct. 12 and 13. JCB wowed race fans by displaying a number of exhibits at the Busch Dollar General 300 and Nextel Cup Bank of America 500 races. From Construction Equipment Guide... A new interceptor sewer for the southeast quarter of Mason, Mich., was recently completed by Jule Swartz and Sons Contractors of Jackson, Mich. Swartz installed 1,500 linear ft. (457 m) of new SDR-26, 24 in. (60 cm) pipe in 14 ft. (4.2 m) lengths, plus seven new manhole structures. The new sanitary sewer replaces an existing 10 in. Crews Widen Main Street in Bamberg During $8M Project →

With large stretches of its main downtown streets reduced to a mess of rocks and dirt and gaping holes, Bamberg, S.C., looked more like a war zone than a quiet Southern town during work late last year and earlier this year to widen U.S. 301/601 and crossroad U.S. 78, said Earl Capps, spokesman for contractor U.S. Group Inc. “Basically, [the streets] were torn down to dirt. … We had to pull up everything [and] start over,” said Capps, whose company is based in Columbia, S.C., approximately an hour north of Bamberg.  Click for more...
