Agricultural Equipment Guide
When considering which equipment would best suit its business needs, Schilling chose Hawthorne Machinery and Caterpillar equipment. Schilling Corp., a Southern California contracting company, has been a loyal customer of Hawthorne Machinery Co., San Diego’s exclusive Caterpillar dealer for more than 20 years.
Schilling’s fleet of approximately 90 pieces of Caterpillar equipment includes 30 backhoes. The company’s backhoe fleet historically has consisted of Caterpillar equipment since the manufacturer released its ’C’ Series backhoe loaders in 1996.
Working with Tom Hamm and John Manring of Schilling, Hawthorne Sales Representative Kerry Wortman provided a limited edition 420E backhoe loader for demonstration. After testing and evaluation, the company made a decision to renew its entire fleet of backhoes with the newest model from Hawthorne.
Founded in 1986, Schilling Corporation is an underground, dry utilities trenching contractor serving homebuilders in Southern California. The company’s San Diego headquarters and fleet maintenance facility serves the San Diego, Riverside, Orange County and San Bernardino markets.
Schilling has experience in serving the following building segments: developers building residential subdivisions, commercial and multi-family developers and projects for utility companies and government entities.
Schilling is currently working on a large maintenance facility for Boeing in Long Beach, a large master-planned community by SunCal in Palm Desert, and the large private estates, Hidden Meadow, developing in Lakeside.
