Terex Utilities
Terex Utilities continues to expand its auger tooling product line to provide custom solutions for utilities, contractors, municipalities and general rental customers.
"As a manufacturer of digger derricks, Terex Utilities has a unique understanding of the need for tooling to stand up to the rigors of the job so that the digger derrick can operate with efficiency," said Greg Adler, regional account manager of auger tooling.
During The Utility Expo the company debuted a dump bottom drill bucket for removing fluid materials, such as mud, from drilled shafts, and a foundation auger tooling trailer for hauling auger tools to the job site.
The dump bottom drill bucket is ideal for situations where the material being removed won't adhere to the auger flighting. This clean-out bucket is available in a range of diameters with 2 in., 2-1/2 in., 2-5/8 in. and 3 in. hex hubs available. The bucket has a 30 in. barrel and can be equipped with conical, bullet teeth/or pilot bits. Relief cuts in the top of the barrel to reduce suction pressure, includes manual dump mechanism.
Hauling Auger Tools
For big construction projects, the types of auger tools needed on site can vary widely. Often there is no way to carry auger tooling on the digger derrick. To improve the organization and efficiency of transporting auger tools, Terex Utilities has partnered with White's Welding LLC to build a trailer for towing a selection of auger tools. Terex Utilities is the exclusive distributor of the Foundation Auger Tooling Trailer.
The 30 ft. trailer has a payload capacity of 17,500 lbs. and can be customized to carry core bit and conventional augers, tie-down chains, ratchet binders, wheel chocks, toolboxes and more.
Depending on customer specifications, the trailer can haul up to seven auger tools with various drill diameters.
"The trailer gives contractors a better way to organize auger tools and a more efficient method of transportation," said Bill Riggs, vice president of operations with Whites Welding LLC.
Other features include 42,000 lb. capacity x 2-1/2 in. pintle eye coupling system, electric brakes with self-charging break-away system, and a 12,000 lb. static drop leg jack for landing gear. Standard running gear is two 12,000 lb. dual wheel axles, or optional 15,000 lb. axles.
