Mecalac recently announced the addition of Reynolds-Warren Equipment Company, based in Forest Park, Ga., as its newest full-service distributor. Reynolds-Warren will cover the entire state of Georgia, as well as the border areas of the state, including north Florida, east Alabama, western South Carolina and southern Tennessee, until dealers are selected to represent these states.

Brian Meissen, sales manager of Reynolds-Warren Equipment Company, said the company looked into the Mecalac line for quite some time and discovered the versatility, quality and unique design of the company's line of machines. Mecalac is a long-established, high-end producer of equipment in Europe, and has recently decided to build a dealer network in the United States, which meant the timing was perfect for Reynolds-Warren to seize the opportunity to become a distributor.

"Mecalac selected us as a dealer because of our stellar product support capabilities, including our response time and our experienced service technicians, said Meissen. "We have committed to apply the same level of expertise and training to this line of equipment as we do with every line we represent. We're a growing company, and we just opened another facility in the Savannah, Georgia, area, which makes us even more accessible to all of our existing customers and prospects. We are paving specialists, and we think this new line will be an asset to our paving customers, as well as a whole new prospect base. The time for our company to grow and expand is now, and the Mecalac distribution has come at a perfect time."

The Mecalac Line

The Mecalac MCR series combines the features of a skid steer loader, a compact excavator and a telehandler, and integrates them with a unique, versatile boom.

The Mecalac all-terrain skid excavator can mount a skit steer bucket, perform all the functions of a skid steer/track loader and lift and load material to a pile of a truck as high as 16 ft. (5 m) due to Mecalac's versatile boom with integrated high reach offset. The boom folds to 131 degrees, offering maximum stability and lifting performance.

The MCR can fully rotate while carrying a load up to 40 percent of its own weight. It also adapts well to unstable surfaces and can work on platforms in loader mode and give the operator a 360-degree view of the surroundings.

Mecalac's Active Lock quick-coupling system allows the operator to switch out to attachments for digging, ditching, skid buckets, forks, handling plates and more, in seconds. Auxiliary hydraulics permit the use of standard hydraulic attachments, including hammers, augers, cutters and more.

All models have an over terrain speed in excess of 6 mph (9.7 kmh). The process of changing from excavator mode to skid steer mode is as simple as turning a switch inside the cab.

Mecalac offers three models of its skid excavators:

  • 6MCR — 12,600 lbs. (5,715 kg) 75 hp (55.4 kW)
  • 8MCR — 15,900 lbs. (7,212 kg) 75 hp (55.4 kW)
  • 10MCR — 20,700 lbs. (9,389 kg) 75 hp (55.4 kW)

Mecalac also has several rubber-tired loader models, some with unique features such as crab steer and four-wheel steer.

Reynolds-Warren Equipment Company will offer the entire line of Mecalac products.
