Police: N.J. Student Took Backhoe on Drunken Joyride

GLASSBORO, N.J. (AP) A southern New Jersey college student faces numerous charges after he allegedly hot-wired a backhoe and took it for a drunken joyride

David Galos, a 20-year-old South Brunswick Township resident who attends Rowan University, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, drunken driving and unlawful taking of a means of conveyance following the April 20th incident in Glassboro.

A police officer saw Galos operating the backhoe near a construction area around 11:15 p.m. and soon stopped him. The backhoe is owned by Glassboro’s water and sewer department.
