Case Construction Equipment will be the exclusive provider of construction equipment to event teams as part of its Platinum sponsorship of the annual National Gas Rodeo.

The National Gas Rodeo features competing utility crews in a variety of skill events showcasing natural gas equipment installations. The event attracts elite gas crews from across the United States. As many as 30 four-person and two-person teams are expected to compete.

The rodeo is produced by the Midwest Energy Association with the support of the American Gas Association and the American Public Gas Association.

“We’re happy to welcome Case Construction Equipment back as a Platinum level sponsor of this year’s National Gas Rodeo,” said Al Jablonowski, chairman of the National Gas Rodeo.

“As the sole provider of all construction equipment for our event, in addition to its financial support, Case is demonstrating a strong commitment to the natural gas industry and the professional development of the industry’s skilled workforce now and in the future.”

After a successful sponsorship experience in 2007, Case signed on for five more years at the Platinum level. This long-term commitment to the rodeo ensures that team members from the country’s top public utility agencies will experience working in a new Case 580 Super M Series 3 backhoe loader.

Case also is providing CX17B compact excavators for the event.

Crews competing in the rodeo will use Case equipment during certain skill events. Qualifying events include the pipe cut, meter set and hand dig, as well as relays like the egg pickup, pipe squeeze and tractor trailer backup that will test the abilities of each team. The winning teams in the 2-person and 4-person competitions receive a trophy and championship rings.

The 14th Annual National Gas Rodeo will be held Sept. 19 to 20 in Fairview Heights, III., near St. Louis.
